Job Summary
As an IE costing at Pactics, you will be responsible for evaluating production costs, analyzing manufacturing processes, and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Your expertise will contribute to the overall cost accuracy and profitability of the organization while ensuring product quality and adherence to standards.
what you will be doing
Cost Analysis:
- Analyze and assess the cost of manufacturing processes, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Conduct cost comparisons for different manufacturing methods, materials, and suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, purchasing, and finance, to gather relevant cost data and validate accuracy.
Process Optimization:
- Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the manufacturing operations.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Continuously monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, productivity, and quality.
Product cost estimation:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for new product designs and modifications, considering materials, labor, equipment, and production processes.
- Collaborate with product development teams to provide cost inputs and optimize designs for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Regularly review and update cost estimation models based on actual production data, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
Production planning and scheduling:
- Collaborate with production planners to develop efficient and cost-effective production plans.
- Ensure production schedules align with cost objectives, customer demands, and delivery deadlines.
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to optimize production efficiency and meet targets.
Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Monitor and control production costs to achieve budgeted targets and profitability objectives.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.
Data analysis and reporting:
- Analyze production data and cost reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on cost analysis, process optimization, and cost-saving initiatives for management review.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement in cost effectiveness.
What we ask
Education:
- Required—college degree and above.
Knowledge of:
- Know how to use Micro software.
- Know well about garment or textile relative product usage calculation.
- Know well about the process analysis, capacity estimation, and time observation.
- Engineering major background.
- Knowing something about lean manufacturing concepts would be preferred.
- Knowing something about industry engineers would be preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent decision-making and follow-through skills
- Skilled in scrap and usage, and other cost calculations for new products.
- Know well about the production process, especially the sewing industry process.
- Ability to communicate with all organizational levels.
- Multitasking and time management.
- Skilled in prioritizing multiple directives within changing work demands.
- Skilled in problem solving.
- Skilled in computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and EMAIL.
- Fluent with both oral and written English.
- Illustrators and Photoshop users are preferred.
Mental Effort:
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Good ocular for colors and shades.
- Stands and walks or moves to different locations as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Involves working in general manufacturing conditions where there are frequently moving products. These conditions also include working in an area where there is moderate noise from the manufacturing processes present and without air conditioning.
