job summary

As a Pattern Technician at Pactics, you will play a crucial role in translating design concepts into precise, production-ready patterns for bags, accessories, and garments. This position involves close collaboration with designers and technicians to ensure patterns meet the highest standards of fit, style, and functionality. Utilizing both manual techniques and CAD software, you will optimize patterns for fabric usage and production efficiency. 

what you will be doing

Pattern Development and Grading:

  • Create precise patterns for bags, accessories, and sportswear using manual drafting or CAD software.
  • Adjust patterns after sample approvals to prepare them for bulk production, focusing on fit and functionality.
  • Identify and correct any fit issues to ensure patterns meet design and form requirements.
  • Update patterns with client feedback and measurement changes before sharing them with the sample or production teams.
  • Grade patterns to ensure consistent fit and style across all sizes.

Prototyping:

  • Develop and adjust prototypes to achieve the best fit, style, and function for bags, accessories, and sportswear.
  • Work with designers and technicians to refine designs and patterns for these products.

Fabric and Material Consideration:

  • Choose materials optimized for bags, accessories, and sportswear, considering stretch, shrinkage, and durability.
  • Record and report fabric specifications, adjusting patterns as needed.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure patterns are accurate, complete, and meet production standards.
  • Verify TPK documents with team members to confirm the correct fabric consumption and specifications.

Collaboration:

  • Work with designers, technicians, and production teams to resolve any design or fit issues.
  • Support pattern and sample development, focusing on the specific needs of bags, accessories, and sportswear.

what we ask

  • A high school diploma or higher is required.
  • Experience in pattern-making is required. 
  • Proficiency in English communication is necessary. 
  • Proficiency in computer drafting software and pattern-making tools is beneficial, and additional knowledge of 3D pattern-making or image editing software is also advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret concepts and design models. 
  • Capable of positioning and cutting out sample patterns using scissors and knives or printing out pattern copies using computers. 
  • Openness to learning and flexibility in undertaking various tasks. 
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and eager to learn new things. 
  • Good team player with strong communication skills. 
  • Experience with measuring, snipping, milling, and cutting tools. 
  • Ability to work under deadlines. 
  • Adaptable to changing project requirements and dynamic environments, ensuring flexibility in approach and solutions. 
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by the manager.
