job summary

As a Senior Development Merchandiser, you will lead development projects for bags, accessories, and garments, ensuring customer requirements are met with high quality and on schedule. You will oversee a team of merchandisers, manages timelines, coordinates with cross-functional teams for accurate sample development, and drives process improvements. Acting as the main customer contact during development, the position ensures seamless communication and project execution while maintaining proper documentation and reporting.

what you will be doing

  • Lead new development projects for bags, accessories, and garments, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and quality standards.
  • Oversee and guide a small team of merchandisers, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring all development phases are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate with the development team, including sample makers, pattern makers, sourcing specialists, and Industrial Engineers, to deliver accurate samples.
  • Ensure samples are right the first time by meeting technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers during the development phase, addressing feedback and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement improvements in the development process to enhance efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Maintain documentation and provide updates to management on project progress and outcomes.

what we ask

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising or product development, preferably in bags, accessories, or garments.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, including materials, patterns, and sampling.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring small teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Keen eye for detail in reviewing technical specifications and production requirements.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues in timelines or processes.
  • Ability to propose and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques in the bags, accessories, and garments industry.
