job summary
As the Mechanic Manager at Pactics, you will lead the mechanic team in our expanding bag manufacturing company. Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans, manage machine inventory and scheduling, and oversee all equipment repairs. Collaborate with suppliers, manage machine rentals, and implement SOPs. Design tools to enhance efficiency, manage the department budget, and develop training programs. Ensure team development and adherence to safety regulations while minimizing downtime.
what you will be doing
- Provide leadership to the mechanic team, fostering their development to support the company’s growth. Ensure the team adapts to increasing machine complexity and criticality of minimizing downtime.
- Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain detailed machine inventory and manage scheduling to optimize usage and ensure availability.
- Oversee inventory of machines, spare parts, and attachments. Implement tracking systems for accurate levels and timely replenishment.
- Design and implement repair and maintenance systems, including performance and repair tracking.
- Work with machine suppliers to acquire and maintain the latest equipment, fostering strong relationships for ongoing support.
- Manage sewing machine rentals, select suppliers, negotiate terms, find alternatives, and reduce rental costs.
- Oversee maintenance and repair schedules for all equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Implement and improve SOPs for machine and parts management, including needle control and attachment stock levels.
- Design tools and machine attachments to improve production efficiency and simplify operations.
- Manage the machine department budget, conduct forecasting, and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Assess training needs, define programs, and ensure continuous professional development of the maintenance team.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years in a maintenance or mechanical supervisory role in manufacturing.
- Proficient in maintenance management software and inventory systems.
