Job Summary

The Nurse in a garment factory is responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of employees by providing medical care, first aid, and health education. They ensure a safe and healthy work environment by managing workplace injuries, illnesses, and promoting health awareness among the workforces. The nurse will conduct routine health checks, monitor workplace hazards, and collaborate with management to implement health and safety policies. Additionally, the nurse is responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, handling emergencies, and supporting wellness programs to enhance employee productivity and well-being.

What you will be doing

  • Respond to and handle any incidents of sickness or injury, including initial assessment, treatment, or referral.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of employee health records.
  • Run a yearly health check for employees who work in a specific occupational area, and do a special checkup for hazardous occupations or jobs.
  • Manage the infirmary, including stock control, verifying the expiration dates of medicines, and ensuring adequate safety stock.
  • Conduct weekly health checks for daycare children and provide guidance on any necessary health and safety actions.
  • Regularly follow up with employees on maternity leave or long-term sick leave to ensure their well-being
  • Manage first aid kits, ensuring proper stock control and timely replenishment.
  • Conducting factory tours to make sure work floor with safety and improve hygiene practices for employees, and support and join the health and safety meeting.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to enhance lunchtime hygiene and nutritional standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the factory’s medical operations.
  • Assist in identifying the OSH training needs of employees and provide mandatory training on health and hygiene for all employees.
  • Provide regular updates to management on any existing or emerging health issues affecting employees.
  • Liaise with health insurance providers regarding claims and coordinate with employees and clinics for biennial physical health checks
  • Advise employees on the NSSF process for accidents, health and maternity leave.
  • Issue recommendation letters to support leave requests.
  • Offer services that ensure compliance with company and employee health requirements.
  • Coordinate with employees and clinics for physical health checks every 2 years.
  • Support team for the interview and eye test.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager and provide support to the team.

What we ask

  • Graduate in Nursing or a related field (secondary level and above)
  • At least 3 years of experience working in hospitals, clinics, or NGOs related to healthcare programs.
  • Highly diligent and accurate when working collaboratively to find solutions.
  • Maintain a high standard of integrity.
  • Tidy and well-organized work attitude.
  • Familiar with Cambodian labor laws related to healthcare.
  • Fluent in Khmer and English communication.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video/sound systems).
