job summary
A Production Planner is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of all production activities in the bags and accessories manufacturing industry. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and on time, aligning with customer demands and company goals.
what you will be doing
Production Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on available production lines, capacity, efficiency, material availability, and due dates.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure schedules are feasible and resources are appropriately allocated.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, production delays, or material shortages.
Capacity Planning:
- Analyze production capacity and capabilities to determine current and future production requirements.
- Optimize the use of production lines and workforce to maximize efficiency and meet production targets.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve production flow.
- Collaborate with Industrial Engineering (IE) online capacity and efficiency to ensure the most accurate production planning.
Material Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure timely availability for production.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely ordering and delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for material handling and storage.
Efficiency and Process Improvement:
- Continuously monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement best practices and lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet quality standards.
Department Coordination:
- Review individual department schedules for printing, embroidery, screen printing, and cutting to ensure alignment with the overall production plan.
- Support these departments with capacity distribution to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
Coordination and Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including production teams, procurement, sales, and management.
- Provide regular updates on production status, potential issues, and proposed solutions.
- Prepare and present production reports, including performance metrics and analysis.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Utilize production planning software and tools to manage schedules and track progress.
- Analyze production data to forecast future needs and identify trends.
- Generate and maintain accurate production records and documentation.
what we ask
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in the bags and accessories manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
