When it comes to sustainability – there’s a lot of noise out there. Which certifications matter? Which materials are most sustainable? The reality is, there isn’t a silver bullet that ticks all the boxes. We’re here to help you figure out what sustainability means to you and how to best live up to your values. 

our facility

Sustainability starts with a production facility made for its employees. Designed by architect Stuart Conchlin, our factory features 120 solar panels, a biodiesel generator, rainwater harvesting, a library, an on-site nurse, a daycare, a canteen (serving up healthy lunches), and of course, plenty of greenery to cool the buildings. All the roofs are insulated, and tilt towards the south, while the northside is glass – meaning lots of natural light throughout the day.

As for why we’re in Siem Reap rather than Phnom Penh (like most manufacturers)? We didn’t want working for us to require leaving family and friends behind to go live in cramped dormitories in the big city. Instead, we decided to build our factory where our staff already lives.

our environment

With so much greenwashing out there, it is hard to know where to begin. Cotton or synthetics? Organic or recycled? Printed or dyed? Circular or biodegradable? The answer isn’t always so clear cut, and it depends on your priorities. We’re here to help you make thoughtful and informed decisions, every step of the way.

It’s also worth saying a few words about polyester. Our Digital Dye Sublimation technology works best with polyester – and we source a number of recycled polyesters. Unlike top-dyes, Digital Dye Sublimation uses almost no water, non-toxic ink imported from Japan, and, because it lends itself so well to customization and limited production runs, reduces over production. We are actively following how we can do our part to minimize microfiber shedding.
